The four drummers of Percossa feel a certain responsibility to share their knowledge, experience and know-how with others and that is why they are committed to giving workshops. They have done so as a pre-program for some Dutch theatres and as a training program for companies (,) one of which was Microsoft Gulf (Abu Dhabi).
Commissioned by the famous Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Percossa developed an art-event that engages in their entirety the schools that choose to undertake the project. Under the specialised guidance of internal and external teachers, the project aims to organise and present all students in the first three years of high school a full theatre evening with Percossa in the Concertgebouw. Through workshops (you might be more explicit here: what kind of workshops?) the students handle all facets of this spectacular theatre show:
ON STAGE
percussion
body percussion
rap
singing
street dance
presentation
BEHIND THE SCENES
catering
technics / lighting / sound
make-up / hair / costumes
sets / instruments manufactoring
escorting audiences / security
publicity / press
ticket sales
Percossa wrote new works especially for this show, taking into consideration the level of the students. Apart from Percossa and participating teachers, the Concertgebouw hires specialised help (rap, street-dance, instruments manufacturing). The result of three weeks of hard work is presented in the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.
